Fergal DeClar

Fergal DeClar is a lecturer in Finance and Economics and is the Module Leader for all Finance subjects at the six ESE centres. DeClar received his Bachelor of Commerce with a specialisation in Finance and Banking in 1990 and a Master Degree in Business Studies in 2000 from the University of Dublin. From 1990 to 1991 he worked for Irish Life Fund Management before departing for his travels in Australia and around South East Asia from 1991-1993. From 1997 to 1999 he worked with the Institute of Technology in Ireland where he lectured in Finance. From 1993 to 2003 DeClar worked with Barclay’s Bank Treasury as an internal management consultant, designing and implementing change programmes in the Dealing Rooms in Dublin and Milan, and as the Treasury Sales Manager, advising clients on their foreign exchange and money market exposures. In 2003 DeClar set up an internet-based mortgage intermediary business in Ireland. After moving to Lucca, he established a business, Moving.ie, advising Irish clients on investing in property in Italy.
