Colin Gordon

Colin Gordon is an honours graduate from Magdalen College.Oxford. He has a wide-ranging media, academic and business background. As a journalist, he has worked for ( among others) the “New Statesman” and “The Guardian” (London), Agence-France-Presse (Paris) and as BBC World Service correspondent in Caracas, Venezuela, where he was also professor of English Literature at the Universidad Simon Bolivar. He has been Principal of an accredited British Council language college and was founder / editor of “The EFL Gazette”, the newspaper of the ELT (English Language Teaching) profession. He has been a member of the ESE London Faculty since January 2008 , lecturing on TV & Journalism, Strategic Sport Marketing, International Strategic Marketing and the Economics of Climate Change. He continues to write regularly for the English and Latin-American press, covering significant global events such as the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark and the Democratic Party National Convention in Denver, Colorado ,USA which nominated Barack Obama as its presidential candidate. His languages (in addition to English) include Spanish, Italian, French and German. He plays the Venezuelan and Paraguayan harps with a Latin-American folk music band.
