Stephen Acunto holds B.A. and M.A. degrees (1971-1973) in classical philology from New York University. He pursued postgraduate studies in philology at Columbia University. Stephen Acunto taught classical literature and philosophy, following graduation. He then concentrated his teaching and research interests in politics and international relations. In addition, he serves as a Trustee of the John Cabot University of Rome, is a member of its Executive Committee and Chairman of its Development Committee. He has served as a Trustee of the College of Mt. St. Vincent from 1997 to 2003 and served as Chairman of its Advancement and Nominating Committees. He served as a Trustee of the State University of New York (SUNY), Westchester College, from 1983 to 1993. He has served on the Board of Trustees of New York University’s Casa Italia since 1995. Stephen Acunto serves as Hon. Vice Consul for the Republic of Italy for New York State, with consular offices in Albany and Westchester County. He has served as the U.S. representative of leading Italian regions, institutions and companies. Mr. Acunto is President of CINN Worldwide, Inc. in publishing, communications, association management and economic development group. He has several books to his credit. He is Chairman of the Italian Academy Foundation., publisher of the academic quarterly The Italian Journal, (founded 1949) and is Chairman of the American Institute of Verdi Studies. Mr. Acunto is decorated with the rank of Commendatore, Order of Merit, Republic of Italy. He is a Founding Board member of the Europe Society of New York.
