Singer Dott Reed Hits iTunes with ESE Alumni, Intoit Management

Dott Reed, the latest quirky pop sensation to hit iTunes and the global record market is taking Italy by storm. The Tasmanian born singer, with her melodious spirit, honky-tonk sounds and theatrical grace has been enjoying the media spotlight after the Italian release of ‘Honestly’, a Charlston inspired melody which provides the backdrop to the BNL TV advert.

Reed whose first single ‘Bad Luck’, released earlier in 2011, launched the singer into the limelight after Japanese Car Manufacturers, Nissan, adopted the playful harmony for the TV spot for the launch of the new Nissan Micra. Produced by Wasabi Corp, Reed, who now resides in London, will release her first EP at the end of the summer.

Growing up on a rural farm in Tasmania with no television, Reed indulged her passion for music with the sounds of Doris Day, Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong, who helped to define her gramophone style and develop an original, vintage modern day sound that is both striking and gracefully poetic in its reflection of life’s simplicities. A pleasure to listen to, Reed complements her vocals with an imaginative, yet eloquent look, full of 1930’s influence that almost leans towards the dramatic while at the same time seems to characterise who she really is.

Discovered and managed by Intoit Management, a creative agency based in London, Madrid and Rome, and directed by Bruno del Prete ESE Alumni 2002, Reed has been promoting the release of ‘Honestly’ on Italian National radio and in the press. Her relaxed and poised manner splashed expressively with her flirtatious demeanor, have made her interviews delightfully entertaining and an instant hit with her Italian audience.

Discussing the ‘relationship breakdown’ lyrics of ‘Honestly’, with Filippo Firli of RDS Radio, Reed explains that it is a “very ironic song and the way I sing it is so jolly and that’s how I think people should approach these situations in life. Like, right, you’re a bit of loser, but you know that’s okay”.
