International Marketing is the art and science of targeting market segments and obtaining, maintaining and building loyalty with customers through mutually beneficial transactions. This is done by effectively communicating and delivering superior service and value. The principle aim of the course is to develop knowledge and skills in the managerial aspects of marketing and to provide an understanding of marketing as the basis for general management decisions.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing will prepare students for a wide range of careers such as brand management, product development, services marketing and business to business marketing. In addition to training for these sectors, the course will prepare students to enter into specialist marketing consultancy and service firms that excel in the areas of market research, advertising, sales promotion, public relations and direct marketing.

Course Structure
All students will take four of the following six 10-credit modules
- Innovation Development and Management
- E-Business and E-Commerce
- International Strategic Marketing
- Consumer Behaviour
- Integrated Marketing Communication
- International Business Management
All students will take two of the following 10-credit modules
- Applied Business Research Methods
- 21st Century Business Structures
- Organizations and their Cultures
- Managing for Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility
- Integrity and Social Responsibility
- Management of Resources and Operations
Course Duration: One Academic Term
Mode of Delivery: Each module consists of 100 hours of learning; 30 hours are spent in lectures/seminars and the rest are spent in directed learning activities, final assessment preparation and self-study.

Level of Instruction: Postgraduate
Course Assessment: Group Project 40%, and Final Exam 60% (Students must possess an 80% attendance rate to take the final exam and receive the ESE Certificate).

• A good first degree in a relevant subject or an equivalent level professional qualification (second class honours or GPA 3.0 and above)*

• Two letters of recommendation
• IELTS/ TOEFL** score
• Three photographs (passport size)

NB: All non-English documents must be officially translated.
* Candidates who do not hold the required qualification but who are able to demonstrate relevant work experience in a managerial position or above for a minimum of 3 years will also be considered.
** Candidates who have completed their first degree or studied in the English language for at least 2 years are not required to submit this test. The committee discourages any candidate with a TOEFL score lower than 577
(paper-based), 90 (internet-based) or IELTS score lower than 6.5 (minimum of 6.0 in each skill) from applying as the language of instruction is English.

Internship Programme: Upon successful completion of the Certificate students may complete an optional 3-month internship. Students will undergo an assessment with the ESE Placement Officer to determine their eligibility for an internship placement. The placement office will assist eligible students in obtaining an internship fitted to their profile and career objectives.
Professional Opportunities: Students will be prepared for a wide range of careers such as brand management and product delvelopment to services and business-to-business marketing. Credits & Recognition: 60 UK credits awarded. Upon completion of the programme, students will receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing validated by the University of Buckingham.*
