Event Management

Events management is a rapidly growing field within the services sector not only for its recreational qualities, but also for its power of communication. The great strength of this business sector is that a well organised event is capable of satisfying guests and participants on multiple levels – an event is not only a diversion for its participants but a tool capable of unifying large bodies of people around a specific happening, and at its best around a specific idea.

The Certificate in Event Management equips students with a perfect balance of academic and vocational skills in order to meet the demands of this young, diverse and rapidly developing industry, and provides an in-house training laboratory in its 'Il Bottaccio London', located adjacent to the ESE London centre (www.bottaccio.co.uk). Event Management students have the opportunity to see organised events every week on university grounds.

The certificate comprises 4 modules. Each module entails one 3 hours session per week over 12 weeks, either day or evening study. Total classroom time of 36 hours per module.

Internship (Optional): 3-month placement after the ending of 4 modules.

The course is delivered through a series of tutorials and seminars including case studies. Assessment is through a group project and presentation, an individual essay and a final exam. Participants are expected to undertake at least two hours per week of independent study. Upon successful completion of the four modules, students are awarded an ESE certificate. Modules may also be taken independently.

Course Duration: 3-month
