Luxury Goods Management

Premium commodities are characterised by their delicacy and therefore merit careful handling from top to bottom. Reputable brands have no choice but to maintain high industry standards, respond swiftly to customer demand, and defend their niche in a competitive marketplace. This involves more than coordinating key players and maximising existing resources. The Luxury Goods Management programme educates future managers and directors who have the fiery zeal and the discriminating intellect to achieve commercial success in the trade of luxury goods.

At the heart of the Luxury Goods Management programme is an irreplaceable emphasis on core knowledge. Students will be challenged to research target markets, evaluate business strategy, investigate quality control, and master the logistical maze. In addition, the Luxury Goods Management programme affords ample opportunities for applying theory in practice. Students will be encouraged to practise their skills in presenting product lines, managing an exclusive clientele, and enhancing brand recognition. The end result is students developing professional aptitude for working in the Luxury Goods sector.

The programme comprises 5 modules. Each module entails one 3-hour session(day or evening) a week for 12 weeks. 3 months (or 36 hours in attendance) marking the completion of each module.

After finishing the 5 modules, students can opt to take part in a 3-month internship to boost confidence and increase familiarity with working situations.

Teaching is done by lively seminars and focused tutorials. Students use textbooks, articles, and case studies simulating real-life decision making. Regular independent study of an appropriate duration is recommended to reinforce classroom learning.

Assessment will involve group work, presentations, essays, and a final exam. Upon completion, students will be awarded an ESE Certificate in Luxury Goods Management. Modules may be studied in isolation.
